Agate Apkalne (b. 1977, Riga) is a Latvian painter who holds a BA (1998) and MA (2005) from the Art Academy of Latvia. She is represented internationally by TVD ART Galerie in Berlin, where she has shown in solo and group exhibitions since the mid-2000s. Her figurative oil paintings — richly coloured, psychologically charged compositions featuring animals and human figures — have been shown across Germany, Austria, Italy, and the Baltic states.

Apkalne also works in art photography, and her practice spans both mediums. She has participated in artist residencies including at the Liepāja Karosta Water Tower, and her multisensory collaborative project Touch of the Universe, created with musician Estere Jansone, was presented at the Ola Foundation in Riga. Her works are held in private collections across Europe.

Agate Tūna

Agate Tūna (b. 1996) is a multidisciplinary artist from Riga, Latvia, working across photography, photographic installations, experimental video, and sound art. Her practice explores the relationship between spirituality and technology from a woman's perspective, tracing connections between her family's spiritualist heritage, hauntology, quartz crystals, and what she terms techno-specters. Photography, as a "haunted medium," plays a central role — preserving traces of the past while shaping imagined futures.

Tūna works primarily with analogue and experimental techniques, including chemigrams and photograms. She holds a BA in Painting from the Art Academy of Latvia (2020) and an MA from its interdisciplinary POST programme (2023), and was also part of the two-year Developing Photographic Language programme at ISSP School. She has exhibited in Latvia and internationally, including solo shows at gallery DOM Riga, Galerija ASNI, and group presentations at Lethaby Gallery London and Apexart New York, and was nominated for the Purvītis Prize 2025.

Alnis Stakle

Alnis Stakle (b. 1975) is a Latvian photographer, Professor of Photography at Rīgas Stradiņš University, and a board member of Riga Photomonth. He holds a PhD in art education from Daugavpils University. His work brings a critical approach to questions of visual representation of collective and private trauma, loss, and memory, working both documentarily and conceptually to examine how sociopolitical ideas can be explored through the interplay of fact, fiction, and subjective experience.

Stakle has won the Sony World Photography Award twice — in the Architecture category (2011) and the Creative category (2022) — and received the New East Photo Prize from Calvert 22 Foundation (2018) and the Artist of the Year award at DongGang International Photo Festival (2021). His work has been exhibited at Modern Art Oxford, BOZAR Brussels, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes Buenos Aires, the Latvian National Museum of Art, and internationally.

Amālija Andersone

Amālija Andersone is a Latvian visual artist, food photographer, set designer, illustrator, and muralist based in Riga. She holds a BA in Graphic Design and Photography from the University of Latvia. For over fifteen years she worked as a professional food and product photographer for international clients including McCafé, Herbalife, and publishers in Germany, the UK, and Saudi Arabia, and her work has appeared in cookbooks published by Christian Verlag Munich.

Since 2020 — following a trip to Bali that redirected her practice — she has turned increasingly to painting, working in large-format canvas in vivid colour. She has an online shop selling art prints and originals, and has created art for the Nour boutique hotel in Dahab, Egypt. She operates from a studio in central Riga.

Andris Eglītis

Andris Eglītis (b. 1981, Riga) is one of the most prominent Latvian painters of his generation, working across painting, sculpture, installation, and building. He holds an MA from the Art Academy of Latvia and studied at Manchester Metropolitan University and the I.E. Repin Saint Petersburg Academy. He received the Purvītis Prize in 2013 for his solo exhibition Earth Works, and in 2015 co-represented Latvia at the 56th Venice Biennale with the installation Armpit, created with Katrīna Neiburga — a project that was followed by Armpit California Edition at the Coachella Music and Art Festival (2016).

Eglītis's painting explores the relationship between human beings and nature in a pre-hierarchical sense, combining oil paint with wood, soil, sand, clay, and other natural materials gathered at his countryside studio and open-air art space Savvaļa in Drusti, Latvia. His largest solo exhibition to date was shown at the Latvian National Museum of Art in 2024.

Ansis Starks

Ansis Starks (b. 1980) is a Latvian photographer based in Riga who specialises in architectural and interior photography, as well as exhibition and event documentation and portraiture. He holds a BA in Business Management from the University of Latvia and worked as a press photographer for the agency A.F.I. before going freelance. He now works regularly with leading Latvian architecture studios, and his architectural photography has been published internationally on platforms including ArchDaily.

Starks has also contributed photographs to significant cultural and architectural projects, including the Latvian Pavilion at the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale and the Baltic Pavilion. His practice moves between the precise documentation of buildings and a broader interest in the relationship between the built environment and its surroundings.

Arnis Balčus

Arnis Balčus (b. 1978) is a Latvian photographer, editor of FK Magazine, and director of Riga Photomonth. He holds a BA in Communication Studies from the University of Latvia (2002) and an MA in Photographic Studies from the University of Westminster, London (2005). His documentary work focuses on Latvian identity, history, Soviet legacy, and the Latvian–Russian relationship, approaching subjects in a direct, raw manner.

Balčus emerged internationally in 2003 with the photographic series Myself, Friends, Lovers and Others, which depicted everyday life among Latvian youth using snapshot aesthetics. His subsequent series include Amnesia, Latvian Notes, Victory Park, and The Scene. Solo exhibitions have been held in London, Riga, Glasgow, Bratislava, Berlin, and Malmö. In 2020 his photobook Myself, Friends, Lovers and Others was published by dieNacht Publishing.

Atis Jākobsons

Atis Jākobsons (b. 1985, Bauska) is a Latvian artist currently living and working in Berlin. He graduated from the Painting Department of the Art Academy of Latvia with an MA in 2010, and has also studied at Manchester Metropolitan University through an Erasmus exchange. His practice spans painting, charcoal drawing, video, installation, and ceramics, and is rooted in a search for what he describes as primal nothingness — blurring boundaries between the subject and object, the mundane and divine, reality and idea.

Jākobsons's work is deeply connected to the study of spiritual heritage and archetypes in contemporary Western culture, as well as the myths of the Far and Middle East. He was twice nominated for the Purvītis Award (2012 and 2015) and received the Diena Annual Award in culture for his series Dark Matter at Mūkusala Art Salon (2015). He has exhibited at Kim? Contemporary Art Centre, Māksla XO Gallery, and in international group shows in Berlin and elsewhere.

Diāna Tamane

Diāna Tamane (b. 1986, Riga) is a Latvian artist who lives and works between Riga and Tartu, Estonia. She works primarily with photography, video, and sound, using autobiographical elements — family memory, everyday routines, personal events — as the basis for reflections on identity, social movement, and contemporary society. Family members are often the main characters in her work, and she frequently uses vernacular photography and found materials alongside her own documentation.

Tamane studied at Tartu Art College (BA in Photography) and at LUCA School of Arts Brussels (MA in Photography, 2014), followed by postgraduate studies at HISK Ghent (2015–2016). Espen Eichhoefer

Espen Eichhöfer (b. 1966, Nesbyen, Norway) is a documentary and portrait photographer based in Berlin, and a member of the renowned German photography agency OSTKREUZ since 2006. He studied photography at the University of Essen, graduating in 2000 with his work The Nest, for which he later received the Dokumentarfotografie-Förderpreis of the Wüstenrot Foundation. Major reportages for publications including Stern, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, and Geo Saison have taken him around the world.

Eichhöfer regularly pursues independent long-term projects alongside his editorial work. His series have been exhibited at the National Library Oslo, C/O Berlin, and the Spielhaus Morrison Gallery, among other venues. His connection to Latvia runs through long-term documentary work in the region.

Filips Šmits

Filips Šmits (b. 1996, Riga) is a Latvian-American photographer who studied at the University of the Arts London, graduating with a BA in Fashion Photography. In 2020, FK Magazine named him the best young Latvian photographer. Alongside personal art projects, he works as a commercial photographer for clients in Latvia, Europe, and the United States.

His central long-term project, Let's Get Sun-Kissed, is an ongoing series made on analogue medium-format film that explores acts of rest and bodily presence in post-Soviet urban landscapes — sunbathing, lying down, pausing — as subtle disruptions within spaces designed for movement and productivity. Influenced by Situationist psychogeography, Šmits approaches the city as a living organism structured by both visible architecture and hidden social codes. He is a nominee for the Latvian Annual Art Award and part of the FUTURES photography network.

Gunārs Binde

Gunārs Binde (b. 1933, Alūksne) is one of the foundational figures of Latvian art photography. He began photographing independently in 1957 and held his first solo exhibition just two years later. By the early 1960s he had gained recognition in the Soviet Union and internationally for his staged psychological portraits and nudes — including his celebrated Portrait of Eduards Smiļģis (1965), which won the gold medal at the XXIX International Salon of Fine Art Photography in Buenos Aires. He has been awarded the Order of the Three Stars, Latvia's highest civic honour, and recognised by FIAP with both AFIAP and EFIAP distinctions.

Binde's black-and-white work spans portraits of the Latvian intelligentsia, staged nudes, and surreal compositions — particularly his long-running series of levitation photographs featuring his wife Tanya as model and muse. He has participated in over 200 solo and group exhibitions worldwide and is widely referred to as a legend of Latvian photography. A major retrospective, BINDE 100–10, was shown at the Latvian National Museum of Art in 2024.

Ieva Epnere

Ieva Epnere (b. 1977, Liepāja) is a Latvian artist who produces photographs, video installations, and documentary films in which personal and private stories form the basis for artistic reflections on identity, tradition, and ritual. She graduated from the Art Academy of Latvia (Textile Department 2001, Visual Communication 2003) and from postgraduate studies at HISK Ghent (2012). She received the Purvītis Prize in 2019 for her work The Living Sea of Memories and was a DAAD Fellow in 2019–2020.

Ieva Putniņa

Ieva Putniņa (b. 1991) is a Latvian artist working in painting, animation, film, and performance. Her practice occupies a space between older visual art traditions and a thoroughly contemporary sensibility — her works frequently evoke historical pictorial language while treating their subjects with paradox and wit. She has presented her work at Gallery 427, Low gallery, the Maboca festival, the Elephant Hall at Riga Circus, and in international shows including An Average Comet at Harkawik Gallery in New York.

In 2025 she was the first recipient of the Vija Celmins Foundation Grant. In early 2026 she presented a joint exhibition with sculptor Anna Egle at Kim? Contemporary Art Centre, Riga, curated by Zane Onckule.

Imants Urtāns

Imants Urtāns is a photographer from Riga, Latvia, whose practice spans fine art photography, portraiture, documentary, and nude work. His photographs have been used by the press — including the newspapers Laiks and Brīvā Latvija — as well as by the Latvian National Theatre and in album and illustration contexts. ISSP (International Summer School of Photography) is a Riga-based non-profit organisation founded in 2005 that runs one of Europe's most respected photography education programmes. Its annual summer school brings together students and working photographers from across the world for an intensive week of workshops, portfolio reviews, and lectures led by internationally recognised practitioners. ISSP also runs a year-round school, a gallery space in Riga, and a publishing programme.

Iveta Vaivode

Iveta Vaivode (b. 1979, Riga; also known as Iveta Gabaliņa) is a Latvian photographer known for her nostalgic, poetic landscapes and portraits, particularly her series Somewhere on the Disappearing Path — a sustained documentary work made in the remote village of Pilcene in eastern Latvia, where her family originates. Jānis Deinats

Jānis Deinats (b. 1961, Riga) is one of Latvia's most significant documentary photographers. Trained as an actor at the Theatre Department of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian State Conservatory, he took up photography in 1989 and quickly became known for his portraits of significant figures in Latvian culture, art, business, and politics. His work is characterised by wit, paradox, and an eye for the telling detail within seemingly unremarkable scenes.

His early work, made between 1989 and 1994 during the collapse of the Soviet system and Latvia's push for independence, formed the subject of a major solo exhibition The First Five Years at the Latvian National Museum of Art in 2024. Deinats has had multiple solo exhibitions at major Latvian institutions, and his work appears regularly in cultural documentation, theatre photography, and portrait commissions.

Juha Arvid Helminen

Juha Arvid Helminen (b. 1977, Helsinki) is a Finnish fine art photographer, costume designer, and sculptor based in Helsinki. He studied graphic design before discovering photography, and later earned his MA in Photography from the Institute of Design and Fine Arts in Lahti (2011). He is best known for his series The Invisible Empire — monochromatic, elaborately staged images of uniformed figures whose identities are concealed, exploring how institutions, religion, and tradition suppress individual identity. Kenneth Bamberg

Klāvs Loris

Klāvs Loris (b. 1988, Riga) is a Latvian painter who graduated from the Painting Department of the Art Academy of Latvia and also studied at the Academy of Brera in Milan. He is known for his large-scale works made using a unique self-invented technique: dry textile pigments — dating from Soviet-era Latvian knitwear factories — combined with industrial varnishes, oil paint, and acrylic, poured and worked on canvases laid flat on the floor. Krista Vindberga is a Latvian interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans still photography, moving image, performance, object-making, and theatre. Her work is rooted in a non-linear understanding of time — she describes the past, present, and future as existing simultaneously, merging and overlapping. Memory is for her not only a personal resource but an artistic material: something that constantly changes, disappears, and reappears.

Central to her practice is the figure of the mother, grandmother, and ancestors — not merely as presences, but as entities literally woven into her identity. Kristaps Liepiņš is a Latvian mountain climber, adventure photographer, and travel expert based in Latvia. A North Face ambassador and mountaineering instructor at Kalnu Grupa, he has led expeditions across the Andes — Chile, Argentina, and Peru — including ascents of peaks in the South American 'Great Nine'. His photography documents high-altitude expeditions and remote mountain environments across four continents.

His photography and writing have been published in expedition books and adventure calendars. The fine art printing of large-format expedition and landscape photography — images made in demanding conditions at extreme altitude — requires papers and processes suited to the tonal range and scale of the work.

Kristiāns Brekte

Kristiāns Brekte (b. 1981, Riga) is one of the most prominent figures in Latvian contemporary art. He works across painting, photography, sculpture, and scenography, addressing themes of death, suffering, sexuality, faith, and the dark undercurrents of contemporary society. His visual language draws on references to Gothic art, black metal subculture, art history, and pop culture. Kristīne Krauze Slucka

Kristīne Krauze-Slucka (b. 1979) is a Latvian visual artist based in Riga who holds an MA in Fine Arts (Visual Communication) from the Art Academy of Latvia (2020) and has studied with ISSP School since 2015. Her conceptual practice explores the materiality of photography and the relationship between humanity, technology, and nature — working with vintage silver gelatine prints, mixed media, cameraless photographic processes, and analogue colour chemistry to make visible otherwise invisible ecological processes.

Līga Ķempe

Maija Kurševa

Maija Kurševa (b. 1981, Lielplatone) is a Latvian artist, lecturer, and curator working across drawing, installation, sculpture, and screen printing. She holds BA and MA degrees in Audiovisual Media Arts from the Art Academy of Latvia and has studied at the Berlin University of the Arts. She teaches composition, riso, and screen printing at the Art Academy's Movement.Image.Sound Department. She is the founder of the non-profit gallery Low and the Riga Zine Festival, and was a co-founder of the artist collective Popper Publishing. Her work is held in the collections of the Latvian National Museum of Art and the Contemporary Art Centre Vilnius.

Paula Zariņa-Zēmane

Paula Zariņa-Zēmane (b. 1988, Riga) is a Latvian painter whose work inhabits a dream-like space between abstraction and half-glimpsed reality. She holds a BA and MA from the Painting Department of the Art Academy of Latvia (2013), and has studied at the École Supérieure d'Art de Lorient in France (2009) and at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (2014 residency). Reinis Hofmanis

Reinis Hofmanis (b. 1985, Riga) is a Latvian artist and photographer. He studied photography at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover, Germany, and holds an MA from the Visual Communication Department of the Art Academy of Latvia. His work is characterised by a socio-anthropological point of view — an interest in typifying different groups of society, their behavioural patterns, and their effect on the surrounding environment. Alongside his art practice he works as a photographer for architecture, editorial, and documentary commissions.

Hofmanis won the main prize at the international architectural photography competition Archifoto (2012 and 2013) and was awarded 2nd place in the Architecture category at the Sony World Photography Awards. His works have been published in The New York Times, Financial Times, Der Spiegel, Esquire, Bloomberg, and Le Monde. In 2024 he received the Fujifilm GFX Challenge Global Grant Award. His solo exhibitions include the series LARP, Sale, and Room No. 13.

Rihards Vītols is a Latvian new media artist whose practice examines the fragile and often contradictory relationship between civilisation and the biological systems on which humanity depends. He works with sound, video, digital media, and objects to create speculative installations that engage with ecology, environmental impact, and the processes of the Anthropocene. He holds an MA in New Media Art from Liepāja University (with study at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar) and a Diploma from the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM). He is a former chairman of RIXC's E-Lab electronic art union.

His work has been presented at the Latvian National Museum of Art, the Arsenals Exhibition Hall, the MAK — Museum of Applied Arts Vienna, Dutch Design Week, and at RIXC Art Science Festival exhibitions. He has also contributed to the Latvian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale (2014). He is currently based in Riga.

Ritums Ivanovs

Ritums Ivanovs (b. 1968, Cēsis) is a Latvian painter known for his large-format hyperrealist works made using a self-invented linear technique. He studied at the Janis Rozentals Art School, the Latvian Art Academy, and Humboldt State University (California), graduating with an MA from the Latvian Art Academy in 1996. Working entirely freehand from photographic references, he paints portraits, nudes, and figure compositions on canvases up to 145 x 250 cm.

Ivanovs has held over 30 solo exhibitions in Latvia and internationally, including in Berlin, Paris, Warsaw, and Doha. He has twice received state commissions to paint official portraits of Latvian Presidents. In 2009, his painting Frame 05 was sold at Sotheby's in London. His work is held in the collections of the Latvian National Museum of Art, Tretyakov Gallery Moscow, and the Estonian National Museum of Art.

Sabīne Skarule

Sabīne Skarule is a Latvian fashion designer who founded her eponymous label SKARULE in 2021, after winning the prestigious H&M Design Award with her collection +371 — a graduation work from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp that drew on Latvian folk craft traditions, childhood memory, and knitting techniques. The label has since been stocked by Ssense, Selfridges, and LN-CC, and shown at Paris Fashion Week.

Skarule's design practice is grounded in reflections on belonging, collective memory, and the preservation of traditional Latvian craft — knitting, crocheting, and weaving — as forms of cultural continuity and personal expression. In December 2025, Kim? Contemporary Art Centre in Riga presented Traces, her first institutional exhibition, bringing her practice into the gallery context through spatial installations, photography, and garment fragments.

Sarmīte Māliņa

Sarmīte Māliņa (b. 1960) is one of the foundational figures of Latvian contemporary art. She graduated from the Design Department of the Art Academy of Latvia in 1986 and began participating in exhibitions at the end of the 1980s, joining a generation of artists — including Ojārs Pētersons, Oļegs Tillbergs, and Kristaps Ģelzis — who boldly challenged the visual art conventions of the time. Her work quickly distinguished itself through a pronounced laconicism and restraint, working across installation, design, and environmental objects.

She has been artistic director of the Avots magazine and has collaborated closely with photographer Kristaps Kalns since 2003, creating joint exhibitions at Kim? Contemporary Art Centre and the Arsenāls Exhibition Hall of the Latvian National Museum of Art. A monograph dedicated to her work, written by Tomass Pārups, was published by Neputns in 2020. A major solo presentation was mounted at Riga's Laikmetīgās Mākslas Telpa in 2026.

Vidvuds Zviedris (b. 1976, Riga) is a Latvian-American abstract painter who has lived and worked in Chicago since completing his BFA at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit in 1995. Raised in an artistic family — his grandfather was a painter — he has developed a practice centred on landscape-inspired abstraction, working with layered colour fields, shifting geometries, and a palette drawn from his travels to Spain, Italy, Yemen, India, and Scandinavia as well as the Latvian landscape tradition.

Zviedris has exhibited with McCormick Gallery in Chicago since 2002 and continues to show at Alma Gallery in Riga. His work is held in private and public collections across Europe and the United States. Solo exhibitions include shows at the Lipke Memorial Museum and Museum of Talsi in Latvia (2022) and internationally in Michigan, Chicago, and Birmingham.

Ville Lenkkeri

Ville Lenkkeri (b. 1972, Oulu, Finland) is a Finnish photographic artist and graduate of the Helsinki School — the influential postgraduate programme at the University of Art and Design Helsinki that helped establish Finland's international reputation in contemporary photography. He studied film at FAMU Prague (1994–96) before completing his BA (2001) and MA (2006) in Photography in Helsinki, with an exchange at the Hochschule für Buchkunst und Grafik in Leipzig.

Lenkkeri's practice involves a refined interplay between reality and fiction that continually leads viewers onto uncertain ground. His major books — Reality in the Making (Hatje Cantz, 2006), The Place of No Roads, and Existence Doubtful — document journeys to places at the edges of inhabited Europe: abandoned Arctic settlements, Antarctic coastlines, and the borderlands of northern geography. His work is held in public collections including Kiasma (Museum of Contemporary Art, Finland), the FNAC collection France, and Statens Konstråd Sweden.

Zane Priede

Zane Priede (b. 1990) is a self-taught still life photographer, set designer, and art director based in Riga, Latvia. A graduate of Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands, she combines a background in design with an intuitive approach to photography, constructing imaginary and surreal scenes from everyday objects. Her work seeks the fantastical in the mundane, with a particular interest in science, biology, and psychology informing a playful approach to visual storytelling.

Priede's series include Continuous Gardens — a still life exploration of a fictional future for plant life — and Invisible Cities, inspired by Italo Calvino. She is a LensCulture Critics' Choice and Critics' Pick (2022) and was nominated for the FUTURES photography platform by ISSP in 2023. What are your opening hours?

Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30, with a lunch break from 12:00 to 12:30. Closed on public holidays.

What's the largest print you can make?

Our Epson pigment printer takes media up to 162 cm (64 inches) wide. Length is limited only by the paper roll, so single-piece prints of several metres are routine. For work larger than the roll width, we panel across multiple sheets.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We pack in custom-built boxes or, for larger and more fragile pieces, custom Dibond cases. We ship prints, framed works, and complete exhibitions worldwide.

What file format and resolution should I send?

TIFF 16-bit in Adobe RGB colour space is preferred, particularly if you're converting from RAW files or scans. Don't just change colour space or bit depth on an existing file — if the conversion didn't happen upstream in your workflow, re-tagging after the fact won't improve the output. For resolution, aim for around 300 DPI at final print size; for large-format work we'll advise on what's actually needed given the viewing distance.

Can I see a proof before you print?

Yes. Hardcopy proofs on the final paper are standard — we print the file, review it with you, and only then print the full edition. We also soft-proof digitally against the ICC profile of the chosen paper.

How do I choose the right paper?

We consult on paper choice for every order. We stock over 30 fine art papers and canvases from Hahnemühle, Canson, Fomei, and Epson — matte, satin, baryta, cotton rag, alpha-cellulose, textured, and Japanese washi. We suggest options based on the image, intended use, and final presentation. Nothing is printed without your approval.

How archival are your prints?

We print with pigment inks on certified archival papers. Each paper maker publishes longevity ratings for their own stock — the fine art papers we use carry ratings measured in decades to over a century. As the only Hahnemühle Certified Studio in Latvia, we work to the paper manufacturer's own quality standard.

Can you scan my negatives, transparencies, or artwork?

Yes. We scan 35 mm up to 4×5 film on an Imacon Flextight 848 — a virtual-drum scanner rare enough now that many photographers travel to use one. For reflective originals, photographs, and flat artwork, we use an Epson Perfection V850 Pro. Scans are delivered as uncompressed TIFF masters.

Can you reproduce my paintings or drawings as prints?

Yes — producing print reproductions of original paintings, drawings, and mixed-media works for artists selling online is one of the things we do most. We capture the original two ways depending on the piece: high-resolution photographic reproduction for larger works or paintings with pronounced surface texture, and flatbed scanning on our Epson Perfection V850 Pro for works that fit within its capture area. From there we colour-match the file to the original, soft-proof, and print editions on fine art papers suited to the medium.

Can you frame work that you haven't printed?

Yes. We frame fine art prints, photographs, paintings, works on paper, and original artworks regardless of who produced them.

Can you produce a full exhibition, from printing to installation?

Yes. We produce shows end-to-end: scanning, file preparation, printing, framing or mounting, edition numbering and certificates of authenticity where needed, and custom Dibond cases sized to each piece.

Venēcijas biennālē ar instalāciju Armpit, kas radīta kopā ar Katrīnu Neiburgu — projektam sekoja Armpit California Edition Coachella mūzikas un mākslas festivālā (2016).

Eglīša glezniecība pēta attiecības starp cilvēku un dabu pirmshierarhiskā nozīmē, apvienojot eļļas krāsas ar koku, augsni, smiltīm, mālu un citiem dabas materiāliem, kas savākti viņa lauku studijā un brīvdabas mākslas telpā Savvaļa Drustos, Latvijā. Viņa līdz šim lielākā personālizstāde tika rādīta Latvijas Nacionālajā mākslas muzejā 2024. gadā.

Gunārs Binde (dz. 1933, Alūksnē) ir viens no latviešu mākslas fotogrāfijas pamatlicējiem. Viņš sāka fotogrāfēt patstāvīgi 1957. gadā un sarīkoja savu pirmo personālizstādi tikai divus gadus vēlāk. Jau 1960. gadu sākumā viņš bija ieguvis atzinību Padomju Savienībā un starptautiski ar saviem inscenētajiem psiholoģiskajiem portretiem un aktiem — tostarp slaveno Eduarda Smiļģa portretu (1965), kas ieguva zelta medaļu XXIX Starptautiskajā mākslas fotogrāfijas salonā Buenosairesā. Viņam piešķirts Triju Zvaigžņu ordenis — Latvijas augstākais pilsoniskais apbalvojums — un FIAP atzinības AFIAP un EFIAP.

Bindes melnbaltie darbi aptver latviešu inteliģences portretus, inscenētus aktus un sirreālas kompozīcijas — it īpaši viņa ilggadējo levitācijas fotogrāfiju sēriju, kurā viņa sieva Taņa ir modele un mūza. Viņš piedalījies vairāk nekā 200 personāl- un grupu izstādēs visā pasaulē. Liela retrospektīva BINDE 100–10 tika rādīta Latvijas Nacionālajā mākslas muzejā 2024. gadā.

Ieva Epnere (dz. 1977, Liepājā) ir latviešu māksliniece, kura rada fotogrāfijas, videoinstalācijas un dokumentālās filmas, kurās personīgi un privāti stāsti veido pamatu mākslinieciskām pārdomām par identitāti, tradīciju un rituālu. Viņa saņēma Purvīša balvu 2019. gadā par darbu Dzīvā atmiņu jūra un bija DAAD stipendiāte 2019.–2020. gadā.

Nozīmīgas personālizstādes ietver Dzīvā atmiņu jūra Art in General, Ņujorkā (2016); Piramīda un citi stāsti Zachęta projektu telpā, Varšavā (2015); un Cirks zem kupola Latvijas Nacionālajā mākslas muzejā. Viņai bijušas 23 personālizstādes.

Jānis Deinats (dz. 1961, Rīgā) ir viens no nozīmīgākajiem Latvijas dokumentālajiem fotogrāfiem. Izglītību aktiera mākslā ieguvis Jāzepa Vītola Latvijas Valsts konservatorijas Teātra nodaļā, viņš pievērsās fotogrāfijai 1989. gadā un ātri kļuva pazīstams ar saviem Latvijas kultūras, mākslas, biznesa un politikas nozīmīgu personu portretiem. Viņa darbu raksturo asprātība, paradokss un spēja ieraudzīt izteiksmes bagātu detaļu šķietami neievērojamās ainās.

Viņa agrīnie darbi, kas veidoti no 1989. līdz 1994. gadam padomju sistēmas sabrukuma un Latvijas neatkarības centienu laikā, bija lielas personālizstādes Pirmie pieci gadi tēma Latvijas Nacionālajā mākslas muzejā 2024. gadā.

Viņš divreiz saņēmis valsts pasūtījumus gleznot Latvijas prezidentu oficiālos portretus. 2009. gadā viņa glezna Frame 05 tika pārdota Sotheby's Londonā. Sarmīte Māliņa

Sarmīte Māliņa (dz. 1960) ir viena no latviešu laikmetīgās mākslas pamatlicējām. Viņa absolvēja Latvijas Mākslas akadēmijas Dizaina nodaļu 1986. gadā un sāka piedalīties izstādēs 1980. gadu beigās, pievienojoties mākslinieku paaudzei — tostarp Ojāram Pētersonam, Oļegam Tillbergam un Kristapam Ģelzim — kuri drosmīgi izaicināja vizuālās mākslas konvencijas. Viņas darbs ātri izcēlās ar izteiktu lakonismu un atturību, strādājot ar instalācijām, dizainu un vides objektiem.

Viņa bijusi žurnāla Avots mākslinieciskā direktore un kopš 2003. gada cieši sadarbojusies ar fotogrāfu Kristapu Kalnu, veidojot kopīgas izstādes Kim? Laikmetīgās mākslas centrā un Latvijas Nacionālā mākslas muzeja Arsenāla izstāžu zālē. Monogrāfija par viņas darbu, ko sarakstīja Tomass Pārups, tika izdota Neputns 2020. gadā.

Viņa prakse aptver fotogrāfiju, instalāciju, objektu un tekstu un pievēršas mehānismiem, kas veido vērtības radīšanu, gaumes formēšanu un vēlmi — it īpaši mākslas un modes krustpunktā. Viņš ir žurnāla PROVENCE līdzdibinātājs un kopš 2012. gada vada savu džinsu līniju.

Kaspara darbi izstādīti starptautiski Kunsthalle Bern, Kunsthaus Zurich, Varšavas Modernās mākslas muzejā, Palais de Tokyo Parīzē, Wattis Institute Sanfrancisko, Artists Space Ņujorkā un kim? Laikmetīgās mākslas centrā Rīgā. Viņu pārstāv Galerie Peter Kilchmann, Cīrihe, un Galerie Urs Meile.

Vika Eksta (dz. 1987) ir māksliniece un pedagoģe Rīgā, Latvijā. Viņas darbs galvenokārt fokusējas uz autobiogrāfisku naratīvu un eksistenciāliem tematiem — novecošanu, attiecībām, dzimti, sociālajām lomām un dzīvi Latvijas laukos — kā arī plašāku pētījumu par Austrumeiropas dzīvi un vēsturiskās traumas atspoguļojumiem. Viņa strādā fotogrāfijā, analogajā foto drukā, video un performancē kamerai, un viņai ir MA vizuālajā komunikācijā no Latvijas Mākslas akadēmijas.

Eksta ir ADC Young Guns balvas, FK Portfolio un pirmās Rīgas Fotogrāfijas biennāles balvas jauno Baltijas fotogrāfu kategorijai ieguvēja un nominēta Purvīša balvai. Kopš 2022. gada ir daļa no FUTURES fotogrāfijas tīkla un to pārstāv ALMA galerija Rīgā.

Vidvuds Zviedris (dz. 1976, Rīgā) ir latviešu-amerikāņu abstraktais gleznotājs, kurš dzīvo un strādā Čikāgā kopš BFA iegūšanas Center for Creative Studies Detroitā 1995. gadā. Audzis mākslinieciskā ģimenē — viņa vectēvs bija gleznotājs — viņš attīstījis praksi, kas centrēta uz ainavu iedvesmotu abstrakciju, strādājot ar slāņotiem krāsu laukiem, mainīgām ģeometrijām un paleti, kas gūta no ceļojumiem uz Spāniju, Itāliju, Jemenu, Indiju un Skandināviju, kā arī latviešu ainavas tradīciju.

Zviedris izstādās McCormick Gallery Čikāgā kopš 2002. gada un turpina rādīt darbus Alma galerijā Rīgā.

Ville Lenkkeri

Ville Lenkkeri (dz. 1972, Oulu, Somijā) ir somu fotogrāfijas mākslinieks un Helsinki School absolvents — ietekmīgā pēcdiploma programma Helsinku Mākslas un dizaina universitātē, kas palīdzēja nostiprināt Somijas starptautisko reputāciju laikmetīgajā fotogrāfijā. Viņš studēja kino FAMU Prāgā (1994–96), pirms ieguva BA (2001) un MA (2006) fotogrāfijā Helsinkos.

Lenkkeri prakse ietver izsmalcinātu mijiedarbību starp realitāti un fikciju, kas pastāvīgi ved skatītājus uz nedrošas zemes. Viņa nozīmīgākās grāmatas — Reality in the Making (Hatje Cantz, 2006), The Place of No Roads un Existence Doubtful — dokumentē ceļojumus uz vietām apdzīvotās Eiropas malās. Viņa darbi atrodas publiskās kolekcijās, tostarp Kiasma (Somijas Laikmetīgās mākslas muzejs), FNAC kolekcijā Francijā un Statens Konstråd Zviedrijā.

Zane Priede (dz. 1990) ir pašmācības ceļā apguvusi klusās dabas fotogrāfe, dekorāciju dizainere un mākslinieciskā direktore Rīgā. Absolvējusi Design Academy Eindhoven Nīderlandē, viņa apvieno dizaina pieredzi ar intuitīvu pieeju fotogrāfijai, veidojot iedomātas un surrālistiskas ainas no ikdienas priekšmetiem. Viņas darbs meklē fantastisko ikdienišķajā, un īpašu interesi par zinātni, bioloģiju un psiholoģiju izmanto rotaļīgā vizuālā stāstniecībā.

Priedes sērijas ietver Continuous Gardens — klusās dabas izpēte augu dzīves fiktīvai nākotnei — un Invisible Cities, ko iedvesmojis Italo Kalvīno. Viņa ir LensCulture Critics' Choice un Critics' Pick (2022) un nominēta FUTURES fotogrāfijas platformai no ISSP 2023. gadā.
